The high sensitivity Garmin eTrex H Handheld GPS receiver locates your position quickly (taking on average 39 seconds to get a satellite lock from a cold start) and maintains its signal far more reliably than earlier Garmin models, even in areas of poor reception such as amongst tree cover and between buildings. The unit is small and lightweight, yet sturdy enough to withstand being dropped or bumped around, and can easily be operated with one hand using the 5 buttons located on either side within easy reach of your fingers.

Garmin eTrex H Handheld GPS Navigator is waterproof , so can cope with even the most inclement weather, and the black and white screen is easy to read. Battery life is 17 hours, and when you do need to change the 2 AA batteries, any waypoints you have stored will not be lost.

The Garmin eTrex H Handheld GPS unit can store up to 500 waypoints – just enter the point you want to go to and the eTrex H will point you in the right direction. To get home again, the Trackback feature reverses your track log and helps you navigate back to your starting point.

The Garmin eTrex H Handheld GPS Navigator is a great basic sat nav tool, representing great value for money. Just bear in mind it does not have the ability to use or store maps, and does not come with a cable to connect it to your PC.
